What is Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)?

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is natural gas cooled until it becomes a liquid. In liquid form it occupies far less volume, which makes it possible to store and move larger quantities than compressed gas in some settings.

In Nigeria, industrial and large commercial customers typically look at LNG when energy demand is substantial, when pipeline gas is not available, or when a specialised supply arrangement may be more practical. It is a different discussion from CNG for a truck or bus fleet.

Where LNG is usually considered

Manufacturing, food processing, industrial plants and other energy-intensive operations are the most common starting points. Some large commercial businesses also have requirements that sit closer to industrial supply than to a small commercial arrangement.

Because LNG involves specialised handling, storage and offtake arrangements, it should be evaluated as a supply and operations project for your site.
